Heat milk and other liquids comfortably and safely

Milk Pots

Milk and similar liquids tend to rise and foam when heated. Milk pots are the ideal choice to prevent this and to heat smaller quantities without boiling over. This makes them safer than conventional pots.

Fissler milk pots are made from up to 90% recycled 18/10 stainless steel and – like all cookware from the successful Original-Profi Collection® – are designed to meet the needs of discerning cooks.

The Milk Pot Guide

Why does milk boil over?

Heating milk follows a specific pattern: at first, nothing seems to happen, but within seconds, it rises to the rim of the pot – and sometimes overflows. This occurs because the proteins coagulate during the cooking process and form a skin on the surface. The rising steam bubbles caused by the increasing temperature cannot escape, so the milk is pushed upwards and eventually boils over.

Milk Pots vs. Simmer Pots – What's the difference?

Milk pots are often also referred to as simmer pots. Simmering means cooking food just below the boiling point of water. It is a particularly gentle and delicate cooking method, mainly used for heat-sensitive ingredients. In general, dishes can be simmered in a milk pot.

Induction-Compatible Milk Pots by Fissler with Optimized Shape

  • To safely heat milk and other protein-rich liquids, Fissler’s induction-compatible milk pots are specially designed:
  • The especially tall pot shape prevents quick boil-over
  • The extra-wide pouring rim ensures clean pouring and transferring of liquids
  • The integrated measuring scale allows liquids to be measured without a separate measuring cup
  • The ergonomic stay-cool metal handle retains a comfortable temperature (<122 °F) during stovetop use. Its downward-curved shape, set away from the pot body, provides a secure and comfortable grip

Fissler milk pots are ideal for preparing hot chocolate and pudding or for warming baby food.

This makes them ideal for preparing creams, sauces, and purees. Overboiling of milk can also be prevented by gently heating and stirring. Fissler saucepans also come with a wide pouring rim for drip-free and spill-free pouring and transferring.
